Note:  The Beginning 4-Week and Advanced 6-Week Design courses are designed to flow from one to the other, with a one-week break between courses.  The Beginning 4-Week Intensive Course will provide the student with the basic knowledge and skills to obtain employment with a garden design firm or start their own practice.  The Advanced Intensive Course is recommended in addition, however, because it introduces the student to drawing perspectives, grading and drainage calculations, and other important aspects of garden design.

After completion of these courses, CSGD provides a series of short workshops to help students round out their garden design knowledge in areas such as landscape lighting, irrigation planning, and plant knowledge.  Students are placed on an e-mail mailing list and receive information on upcoming workshops.

Our Courses are titled “Intensive” as students are expected to work and produce professional level plans that included section drawings and rendered versions of their solutions in a short period of time. This is coupled with homework assignments that are designed to strengthen your skills, abilities and credibility as a professional landscape designer. Although the program is intense, students are consistently surprised by how much they learn and absorb by the end of the Course.

*Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis, based on your level of experience and an interview and review of your portfolio by the Director.

Rob's program was perfect for me - finally a program that helped to crystallize every aspect of the design process, from client contact, design theory and outstanding presentations!
